Kulturdepartmentets menneskerettspris for journalister
I am honoured that four monoprints from my exhibition “The Ghosts We Chase We Never Catch” were purchased by the Ministry of Culture, and will feature as diplomas for The Ministry of Culture’s Human Rights Award for Journalists.
This year’s prize was awarded to a group of researchers and journalists at Stavanger Aftenblad for their extensive journalistic project uncovering police force against children. Congratulations!

Kultur- og likestillingsdepartementets menneskerettspris for 2022 ble i dag gitt til Stavanger Aftenblad. Prisen deles ut annethvert år til journalistikk som i særlig høy grad har satt søkelyset på aktuelle menneskerettighetsspørsmål i Norge.
En gruppe journalister, researchere, utviklere og designere i Stavanger Aftenblad får prisen for et omfattende sakskompleks kalt «Politimakt mot barn», som er publisert over en periode på halvannet år. Arbeidet består av flere dokumentarer, over 50 nyhetsartikler, videoer, podkaster m.m. Den første dokumentaren om «Politimakt mot barn» ble publisert i februar 2021.
– Uten den frie journalistikken har vi ikke et demokrati. Uten redaksjoner som graver og undersøker, er det mange svake i samfunnet som ikke ville hatt en stemme. Vi er helt avhengige av at journalister stiller kritiske spørsmål og holder myndighetspersoner ansvarlige. Jeg vil derfor berømme Stavanger Aftenblad for jobben som er gjort i dette prosjektet. Gjennom imponerende research har de gått til kjernen av pressens samfunnsoppdrag, som handler om å avdekke kritikkverdige forhold, og beskytte enkeltmennesker og grupper mot overgrep eller forsømmelser fra offentlige myndigheter, institusjoner, private foretak, eller andre, sier Trettebergstuen.
Prisen går til følgende personer i Stavanger Aftenblad:
Tove Bjørnå (journalist), Thomas Ergo (journalist), Tor-Arne Vikingstad (journalist), Øyvind Røysland (utvikler), Christine Andersen Johnsen (research), Hanne Undem (research), Inga Sverdrup (design).
Prisen ble utdelt under Norsk Redaktørforenings høstmøte på Pressens Hus i Oslo. Prisen er en pengegave på 100 000 kroner, og et trykk av kunstneren Cathrine Alice Liberg.
Juryen har bestått av Jens Barland, førsteamanuensis og prorektor ved Høyskolen Kristiania, Kiran Aziz, leder for ansvarlige investeringer hos KLP Kapitalforvaltning, Hege Lamark, dosent ved Nord Universitet.
International Biennial Print Exhibit: 2022 R.O.C., Taiwan
I am participating in this year’s edition of the International Biennial Print Exhibit: 2022 R.O.C. in Taichung, Taiwan. The biennial is open until 20.11.2022.
Established in 1983 and organized by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, the International Biennial Print Exhibit: R.O.C. is one of the longest running international print exhibitions in the world today. This year it received a total of 1011 online applications from printmakers across 79 countries, whereas 187 works were selected for the final awards shortlist and exhibition at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
My entry is the lithograph “Do Not Keep Photos of the Dead V”.
Tou Trykk, Stavanger
I have spent an amazing week at Tou Trykk in Stavanger, where I have been organising the lithography facilities, as well as giving a four day litho course. This place is an absolute gem, and I hope the litho press will find many avid users in the future!

Winner of the City of Knin Award
My entries to the 1st International Triennial of Portrait in Knin (Croatia) have been awarded the City of Knin Award, one of three prizes awarded at the triennial. The lithographs, from the series Album, were created during my residency with Klub Solitaer in Chemnitz earlier this year. Thank you so much to the Triennial Awards Committee, and to the Knin Museum for inviting me to participate!
The triennial, first of its kind, is on view from 9 September - 9 November 2022. There are 55 participants in total, from 17 different nations.
