Jeg er en kunstner og grafiker av norsk, britisk og kinesisk-singaporeansk herkomst, som jobber med tradisjonelle grafikkmetoder som etsning, litografi, kobberstikk og mezzotint. Min kulturarv har formet mitt kunstnerskap, og gjennom grafikken utforsker jeg migrasjon, global handel, kolonialisme og kulturell hybriditet – tematikker som i stor grad oppsto gjennom det trykte mediets evne til å spre tekst, bilder og kart over fremmede steder.
Personlige familiehistorier, og hvordan de representerer fragmenter av større globale fortellinger, ligger i kjernen av hvert prosjekt. Jeg er spesielt interessert i forvrengningen av minner og kulturell forståelse som oppstår i familier der én generasjon har migrert fra ett kontinent til et annet. Kan vi noensinne bli pålitelige fortellere av våre forferdres historier?

I am an artist and printmaker of Norwegian, British and Chinese-Singaporean cultural heritage. I work with traditional printmaking methods such as etching, lithography, copperplate engraving and mezzotint. My mixed background has shaped my artistry, and through my prints I explore migration, global trade, colonialism and cultural hybridity – themes that largely emerged through the ability of the printed medium to spread text, images and maps of foreign places.
Personal family histories, and how they represent fragments of larger global narratives, lie at the core of each project. I am particularly interested in the distortion of memories and cultural understanding that occurs within families where one generation has migrated from one continent to another. Can we ever become reliable narrators of our ancestors’ stories?
